About the role
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
What you'll do
- Develop civil design solutions for haul roads, access roads and mine or industrial site infrastructure
- Undertake geometric design, grading and alignment development, balancing safety, constructability, operational needs and earthworks efficiency
- Develop heavy-duty pavement solutions based on expected loading, ground conditions, materials and project requirements
- Prepare bulk earthworks designs, cut-and-fill assessments, grading plans and quantities, coordinating geotechnical and slope requirements with the relevant specialists
- Design surface water management and drainage systems, including open channels, detention or retention facilities, stormwater networks and culverts
