About the role
As an FPGA IP Software Development Engineer at Altera, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing software for our cutting-edge FPGA intellectual property. You will be responsible for creating robust, high-performance software solutions that enable our customers to leverage the full potential of Altera's FPGA technology across various applications.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with hardware design engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration between hardware and software
- Implement and debug firmware, embedded software, Linux kernel drivers and host-side applications interacting with ethernet/DMA/PCI FPGA IPs
- Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough validation of software components
- Create detailed documentation including design specifications, user guides, and application notes
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding software usage and troubleshooting
