About the role

The Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures. The role includes pre-operative assessment, patient preparation, verification of surgical safety requirements, post-operative monitoring, pain management, prevention of complications, and coordination with the surgical team to ensure safe patient recovery.

What you'll do

• A. Pre-Operative Nursing Care
• Receive patients scheduled for surgery and verify patient identity using approved identifiers
• Review medical history, allergies, investigations, consent forms, and pre-operative checklists
• Check and record vital signs and report abnormal findings to the treating doctor
• Ensure the surgical site is identified and marked by the authorized practitioner, as applicable
