Welder

About the role

The Fabrication Welder is responsible for performing welding activities on piping, structural steel, storage tanks, pressure vessels, equipment components, and other fabricated items in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), applicable codes, project specifications, and quality requirements.

What you'll do

• Perform welding activities on carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and other specified materials according to the approved WPS and assigned qualification
• Perform root pass, hot pass, fill passes, and cap passes in accordance with the approved welding procedure
• Maintain the specified welding current, voltage, travel speed, electrode type, filler material, and other essential parameters
• Follow the approved welding sequence to minimize distortion, residual stress, and dimensional variation
• Ensure proper fusion between the base metal and weld metal
