About the role
As a Technical Director – HV Cable Engineering , you will act as a recognised Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HV/EHV cable systems across complex Transmission & Distribution programmes. This role requires a CDAE qualification and carries accountability for technical authority, assurance, and strategic leadership across cable engineering.
What you'll do
- Act as the technical authority / SME for HV and EHV cable systems (HVAC & HVDC) across onshore and offshore projects
- Provide strategic technical leadership and governance across multi‑disciplinary delivery teams, ensuring engineering solutions meet client, contractual, statutory
- Lead technical assurance activities , including design reviews, peer reviews, technical approvals, and independent checking of HV cable system designs
- Own and drive technical risk management , ensuring early identification, clear communication, and effective mitigation of cable‑related risks
- Define and oversee HV cable system design philosophies , including ratings, installation methods, bonding systems, earthing, and system integration
