About the role
The Deputy Chief Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial controls, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. The role involves supervising the monthly closing process, managing reconciliations, preparing MIS reports, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
What you'll do
- Oversee the monthly financial closing process, including reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately, processed on time, and within approved authorization limits
- Verify that financial transactions are correctly entered into the accounting system
- Ensure supplier and customer invoices are prepared on time and properly reconciled
- Monitor student activity-related accounting and ensure expenditures remain within approved budgets
