About the role
The Manager - Mechanical Engineering is responsible for leading Life Cycle Management (LCM) activities for on-market diagnostic products, including design changes, investigations, productivity initiatives, obsolescence management, compliance updates, and sustaining engineering projects. This position reports to the Group Manager & Head, Life Cycle Management and is part of the Instrument R&D organization located in Bengaluru Development Center.
What you'll do
- Responsible for leading Life Cycle Management (LCM) activities for on-market diagnostic products, including design changes, investigations, productivity initiatives
- Responsible for driving sustaining engineering and lifecycle management initiatives across the instrument portfolio
- Lead and develop a high-performing Mechanical Engineering LCM team, providing technical direction, coaching, resource planning, and fostering a culture of innovation
- Own the sustaining engineering strategy and execution for electro-mechanical and medical device products, ensuring product reliability, manufacturability
- Drive design change management and product lifecycle activities, including ECO/ECR execution, component obsolescence mitigation, supplier-driven changes
