About the role
The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other 'system' software. Also, the Maintenance and debugging of systems software. Coordination and the IOGEN work for new MF hardware. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution.
What you'll do
- Apply planned maintenance refreshes to supported DB2 environments
- Install, support, and customize licensed DB2 V13/12/11 software and related tools in Data Sharing and Non-Data sharing environments
- Performing database backups, restores, reorganizations, run stats, etc. Performing database performance and query tuning
- Proactively monitoring and maintaining production databases
- Work with REXX Scripts for mainframe and interaction with DB2 databases
