About the role
As an Architect – Mechanical Design, you will provide technical leadership for the design and development of mechanical systems, subsystems, and components for GE HealthCare products. This role goes beyond individual design execution and requires an experienced mechanical engineering leader who can solve complex technical problems, mentor engineers, develop robust design methodologies, and influence product and technology direction.
What you'll do
- Provide technical leadership for mechanical design and product development activities, guiding engineering teams through complex technical decisions and design challenges
- Lead the conceptualization, architecture, design, and development of mechanical components, subsystems
- Drive mechanical engineering activities across the NPI lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, detailed design, prototyping, verification
- Apply strong mechanical engineering fundamentals to engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, design calculations
- Lead technical and design reviews, identify technical risks, evaluate design alternatives, and drive engineering solutions to closure
