About the role
We are looking for a Senior Advanced SW Engineer to serve as Lead of our Edge / Cloud Platform. This person will own the technical direction for edge computing solutions and will also support architecture reviews across other applications in the portfolio. This is a hands-on architecture role — deep technical ownership combined with cross-team influence.
What you'll do
- Serve as Lead Architect driving the design and delivery of the Forge Cognition edge computing initiative
- Define and own edge architecture patterns for distributed, resource-constrained, and disconnected/intermittently-connected environments
- Architect and operationalize workloads on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) (edge and/or hosted, depending on program needs)
- Design, build, and scale Kubernetes-based deployments for edge and cloud (Azure, GCP, Alibaba)
- Lead cloud & hybrid architecture for scalability & resilience
