About the role
The Officer – Health & Safety is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety standards across the organization. The role focuses on identifying workplace hazards, promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and assisting departments in maintaining a safe, healthy, and incident-free working environment.
What you'll do
- Implement and monitor the organization’s occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend suitable corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor compliance with applicable occupational health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and hazardous conditions; prepare reports and track corrective actions through closure
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, risk assessments, training activities, permits, and other safety-related documentation
