About the role
We are seeking a PostgreSQL Developer with strong experience in migrating heterogeneous databases to PostgreSQL / Aurora PostgreSQL. The role focuses on converting database objects, optimizing migrated workloads, and supporting application teams during migration and cutover phases.
What you'll do
- Lead the conversion of SQL Server database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints) to PostgreSQL-compatible syntax and data types
- Convert SQL Server stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views into PostgreSQL-compliant PL/pgSQL with equivalent functionality
- Support application testing, UAT, and performance benchmarking on PostgreSQL / Aurora PostgreSQL
- Fine-tune PostgreSQL configuration parameters in coordination with DBA/platform teams
- Design and execute data migration strategies using AWS DMS, AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and/or custom ETL scripts (Python, pgLoader, etc.)
