About the role
We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in AWS RDS for MySQL to manage, optimize, secure, and maintain production database environments. The ideal candidate should have practical experience managing high-availability MySQL databases, troubleshooting performance issues, optimizing complex queries, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, and administering databases hosted on AWS.
What you'll do
- Manage and administer MySQL databases across development, staging, and production environments
- Manage AWS RDS for MySQL instances, configurations, parameter groups, storage, backups, snapshots, and maintenance
- Monitor database health, availability, CPU, memory, storage, connections, IOPS, and query performance
- Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning
- EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE
