About the role
We are seeking a Underground Mine Planning & Blast Design Engineer (Remote) to support Orica's global underground mining operations through the delivery of high-quality drill and blast engineering services. This role is part of Orica's growing Remote Engineering & Design Services capability and provides a unique opportunity to apply underground mining expertise while working from a central engineering hub in Hyderabad.
What you'll do
- Deliver remote underground engineering services including drill and blast design reviews, loading package creation, and design validation for global WebGen™ operations
- Develop, review, and optimize underground blast designs to ensure safety, quality, and operational effectiveness
- Analyse blast measurements and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Evaluate stope performance, dilution, recovery, blast outcomes, and design success factors to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare technical reports, benchmarking studies, and performance analyses for internal and external stakeholders
