About the role
As Senior Design Engineer at Schneider Electric, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing IoT solutions across our global infrastructure, with a primary focus on Edge software — specifically protocol driver development (Modbus, BACnet, and other field protocols).
What you'll do
- Design and implement inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms between protocol drivers and application services for efficient data exchange
- Work on device-level data acquisition and integration with upstream application services and edge data pipelines
- Ensure driver software is secure, reliable, and optimized for resource-constrained and real-time edge environments
- Implement and manage Linux process management, including systemd services, resource allocation, and performance tuning for driver processes
- Collaborate with application teams (built primarily in Python) to integrate protocol drivers into the broader Edge software stack
