About the role
Staff Engineer, Core Infrastructure at Stripe. As a Staff Engineer on REP, you will play a key leadership role in enabling Stripe's infrastructure to power all of our products, globally and at scale.
What you'll do
- Define the checks that must pass before launch or failover, build validation systems that replay real production paths against regional infrastructure
- Also help build Core Infrastructure's senior technical bench in Bangalore through design review, mentoring, and cross-region technical leadership
- Define evidence-based readiness criteria for regional launches, traffic migrations, and failovers — replacing manual checklists with repeatable
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks on critical payment paths; use system data to drive ownership and validate that platform mitigations measurably reduce impact
- Lead end-to-end cross-functional delivery for new-region infrastructure, including safe service behaviors for remote control planes
