Field Service Engineer II Electron Microscopy Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) business develops, manufactures, and supports advanced microscopy and analysis solutions. Its electron microscopy portfolio combines hardware, software, and application expertise to help customers answer questions at the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales across semiconductor, electronics, materials science, life sciences, and other markets.
What you'll do
- Install complex instruments and options at customer sites, then perform testing to confirm they are operating properly
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration
- Diagnose and repair instrument and subsystem issues, including component-level problems where appropriate
- Travel, sometimes on short notice or outside standard hours, to address service needs and assist colleagues
- Train customers and users in system operation and maintenance, and contribute to team training as a technical resource
