About the role
As a Staff Backend Engineer on NIRA, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of a critical domain within our credit platform. You'll lead a complex product area end-to-end, from strategy through execution, while working closely with our Principal Engineer, GM, and cross-functional partners across NIRA, Cashalo, and our US teams.
What you'll do
- Own a domain: Lead strategy, design, and delivery for a core part of NIRA's platform
- Drive complex initiatives: Take large, high-stakes projects from design to ship
- Champion AI-native engineering: Push adoption of tools like Claude, Cursor, and Augment across the team
- Mentor engineers: Level up engineers up to Senior, and raise the technical bar in Bangalore
- Lead incidents: Own SEV1 and lower incident response through to resolution
