About the role
The Cloud Patching and Backup team is seeking a Software Engineer III to strengthen Tanium-based Linux patching, vulnerability remediation, and automation across UKG cloud and data-center environments. The role combines hands-on Linux engineering with software-focused automation and cross-team operational ownership.
What you'll do
- The engineer will serve as a Linux subject matter expert for Cloud Engineering and use Tanium to plan, target, deploy, monitor, and validate patching across development
- Responsibilities include maintaining Tanium packages, actions, deployments, schedules, targeting logic, and compliance reporting; troubleshooting patch applicability
- Coordinate patch plans and emergency vulnerability remediation with application, database, security, SRE, and regional operations teams while supporting observability
- Scope and Level Expectations
- Independently lead complex Tanium-based Linux patching initiatives from problem definition through implementation, validation, and operational handoff
