About the role
We are looking for a hands-on iOS Architect to own the architecture, quality, and scalability of the Vagaro Pro and Vagaro customer iOS apps. You will set technical direction for the iOS platform, lead the modernization of a large production codebase, and raise the engineering bar across the mobile team.
What you'll do
- Own the iOS app architecture: modularization, layering, state management, navigation, and dependency injection
- Define and drive the iOS technical roadmap, including the Objective-C to Swift and UIKit to SwiftUI migration
- Author architecture decision records (ADRs) and design docs; review and approve significant designs and critical PRs
- Design API contracts with backend teams covering REST, pagination, error handling, offline sync, and versioning
- Set and enforce targets for crash-free users, hangs, launch time, app size, and memory usage
