About the role
Mechanical Design Engineer - Custom Engineering As a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Custom Engineering (CE) group, you will develop customized solutions for Toyota industrial vehicles based on dealer requests and specific customer needs for both internal combustion and battery/electric forklifts.
What you'll do
- Review dealer requests and develop accurate, practical engineering solutions for special vehicle requirements
- Prepare design quotations and request pricing and technical information from suppliers
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and parts lists for Toyota Special Design Requests (TSDRs)
- Design and document customized components and systems for industrial vehicles
- Prepare and maintain order-specific engineering bills of materials (BOMs)
