About the role
Coordinates activities related to the procurement of goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and consumables. Initiate purchase requisitions in a timely manner and at the lowest possible cost, with quality and reliability in mind. Follow the company's safety, quality and continuous improvement policies and procedures.
What you'll do
- Identify, contact, and negotiate with suppliers for information on raw materials, products, or services, such as pricing, availability, stock, supply agreements
- Maintains working relationships with suppliers on all current and potential future business
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers through effective communication and by holding regular meetings
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Prepares purchase orders for raw materials, products, or services
