Senior Software Development Engineer, Payroll Tech

About the role

As Amazon's workforce grows in size and geography, payroll operations become increasingly complex, and we're solving this through technology rather than process alone. You'll join a collaborative group focused on building systems that track and monitor payroll accuracy and compliance across countries and regions.

What you'll do

• Your day might include collaborating with engineering and finance stakeholders to decompose complex business challenges into clear technical strategies
• Also mentor engineers at various levels, establish practices and tooling that make high quality the team's default
• Define the technical vision for core product areas and transform how we enable accurate, timely payroll processing across multiple countries at scale
• Design and architect scalable, reliable solutions for complex payroll and financial systems that integrate across multiple services, countries
• Own the technical vision end-to-end for one or more core product areas, from problem definition through architecture, delivery, launch, and long-term operational health
