About the role
As a Buyer, you will be part of the Materials team, working closely with Production and Engineering teams. The Buyer is responsible for maintaining work orders and production schedules based on MRP recommendations and customer demand to ensure the controlled flow of work and materials through manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Communicates with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability
- Works with engineering on new product introductions, including early supplier involvement and to provide material pricing
- Discusses defective or unacceptable materials or services with quality control personnel, manufacturing team members
- Manages and continuously reviews the Purchase Order System (MRP), to ensure it is accurate
- Analyze and support the inventory cycle count program to resolve any discrepancies
