About the role
What You'll Do This role exists to support and scale Avalara's Workday development and enterprise system integrations at a time of increasing demand, growing backlog, and critical initiative delivery. Following recent attrition, this position is essential to ensure continuity, delivery velocity, system reliability, and sustainable engineering execution across Workday and related enterprise platforms.
What you'll do
- Be Own and deliver Workday development, integrations, enhancements, and related engineering work with a focus on reliability, scalability, maintainability
- Contribute to high-priority engineering initiatives including AvaTax development, ELR readiness through planned SRR/ARB work, AP cutover support for Canada and the USA
- Reduce backlog by delivering high-impact engineering work with strong prioritization, execution discipline, and ownership from requirements through production support
- Improve system performance, stability, observability, and maintainability across Workday and related enterprise platforms
- Build and improve automation capabilities to reduce manual effort, improve testing coverage, accelerate delivery, and reduce operational risk
