About the role
This position is accountable to provide all design activities in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all of WSP's policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Principal Engineer in the design of 765 kV HVAC lattice transmission towers.
What you'll do
- Develop lattice tower Design Critieria, inclusive of clearances, structural loading, maintainance, and unique weather studies
- Develop structure framing configurations, design, and detailing
- Recommend construction alternatives and assess overall tower contructability
- Develop construction specifications inclusive of all required U.S. codes and standards
- Perform transmission line optimization studies, considering optimal lattice tower family development, span length, and conductor selection
