About the role
WSP is currently seeking an Principal Engineer – Pedestrian Modelling to join our Rail and Transit Division in Bengaluru, with 8 to 14 years of experience in developing, calibrating and analysing pedestrian and crowd simulation models for railway stations, metro, LRT systems, and large transit facilities.
What you'll do
- Develop, calibrate, and maintain advanced passenger behaviour simulation models across multiple transportation modes, including rail, bus, air, and urban mobility systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—such as data scientists, software developers, and project managers—to integrate models into products and project deliverables
- Prepare clear technical reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate modelling results and insights to clients and stakeholders
- Engage directly with clients to understand requirements, tailor simulation approaches, and provide technical support throughout implementation
- Monitor emerging trends and research in passenger behaviour and modelling techniques to continuously improve methodologies
