Data Center Technician, Google Server Operations

About the role

Google isn't just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster).

What you'll do

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or teams (e.g. Machine Learning platforms, network architecture)
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose moderately complex issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise
• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, and infrastructure based on identified issues with multiple solutions
• Execute advanced operational procedures as part of daily work activities and follow security policies and processes
• Work in shifts is required to meet evolving business needs and operational schedules
