About the role
The Credit Manager – Loan Against Property (LAP) is responsible for evaluating, reviewing, and approving credit proposals related to LAP products within the Retail Underwriting function. The role involves maintaining agreed service level deliverables, ensuring adherence to credit policies, and managing portfolio quality through regular monitoring and strategic account management.
What you'll do
- Underwrite secured and unsecured loan proposals in accordance with defined policies and procedures, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met
- Supervise a team of credit underwriters and provide necessary guidance and support
- Conduct personal discussions with customers to assess creditworthiness
- Minimize front-end delinquencies by proactively engaging with customers at the first sign of default
- Ensure completion and verification of credit and KYC documentation through telephonic checks, field visits, and collateral inspections
