About the role
As an Intermediate Underwriter, you will assess new and renewal commercial insurance submissions, evaluate risk, and determine appropriate coverage solutions within established underwriting guidelines. You will play an important role in developing new business opportunities while supporting the retention of existing accounts.
What you'll do
- Review new business submissions and assess risks for referral to insurance markets or placement and binding within delegated underwriting authority
- Evaluate new and renewal applications to ensure sufficient and accurate information is available to determine appropriate coverage
- Support renewal underwriters in retaining existing accounts while identifying opportunities for additional business
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers through regular communication, sales activities, and service support
- Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and production targets
