About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Developer to take end-to-end ownership of data engineering and backend development across a growing business environment. In this hands-on senior role, you will dedicate approximately 75% of your time to data engineering and 25% to backend development, building scalable solutions that improve business operations and financial visibility.
What you'll do
- Take primary responsibility for the organization's data environment, managing requirements from initial discovery and solution design through implementation, deployment
- Assess existing data infrastructure, including legacy SQL databases and the broader Azure environment, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and integrations across Microsoft Azure, HubSpot, Xero, and Stripe
- Develop effective data models and ensure the accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and integrity of business-critical information
- Make pragmatic technical decisions, prioritizing improvements to existing systems over unnecessary platform replacements or complete rebuilds
