About the role
As an Application Engineer III at Swiss Re, you will be at the heart of delivering technology solutions that power our Life & Health Reinsurance business. You will own database engineering as part of end-to-end technology delivery of products and manage the full application lifecycle — from planning and design through to deployment and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
- Design and implement advanced SQL/PL-SQL/T-SQL solutions including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers
- Perform database administration tasks for Oracle and MS SQL Server, including performance tuning, security configuration
- Create, modify, and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and constraints to support evolving application needs
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, index optimization, and detailed execution plan analysis
- Develop and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data efficiently across various systems and pipelines
