About the role
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible to maintain working relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality possible of purchased components / materials with a focus on continuous improvement. The Supplier Quality Engineer establishes quality targets and goals to include quality cost reduction, warranty reduction and overall supplier rating.
What you'll do
- Monitor and resolve supplier process control performance issues by developing robust quality control plans and implementing sustainable corrective actions
- Initiate and lead supplier performance improvement by partnering with supplier to identify, understand and abate issues for New Product Introduction
- Lead and own PPAP requirements associated with a change
- Lead problem definition and reactive problem solving through containment, identification of root cause and corrective action with Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR)
- Develop 8D and supplier reports on reported issues
