About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Engineering professional to join our Chennai office as Chief Technical Engineer / Deputy Department Manager . The role will support the Department Manager in leading engineering execution, resource management, technical governance, and capability development across global Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refinery, Energy Transition, and Industrial Infrastructure projects.

What you'll do

  • Support the Department Manager in managing the Civil & Structural Engineering department
  • Provide technical leadership for FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects
  • Lead the analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, foundations, pipe racks, equipment support structures, and industrial facilities
  • Review and approve critical engineering deliverables, calculations, specifications, and design reports
  • Drive project delivery performance, quality, and schedule compliance
