Mechanical Engineer design - Hydropower

About the role

Responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of mechanical systems for hydropower plants, including turbine-generator units, governors, MIV, EOT cranes, and balance-of-plant systems (cooling water, drainage/dewatering, HVAC, fire protection, compressed air). A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized Institution.

What you'll do

• Perform the role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following independently or under the supervision of senior engineers
• They will need to perform the following for the hydropower plant turbine-generator units, governors, MIV, EOT cranes and balance of plant systems such as cooling water
• Design analysis and calculations for selection and sizing of turbines and mechanical balance of plant equipment
• Prepare technical and performance specifications and work with vendors for the equipment supply contracts
• Prepare design basis memoranda, technical memoranda, and reports, and coordinate report preparation within a multidisciplinary team
