Principal Engineer - Power Electronics

About the role

The Principal Engineer - Power Electronics would lead the design, development and qualification of high power electronics for motor controllers for Advanced Structures Electronic Controllers team.

What you'll do

• Own and drive hardware architecture, component selection, and topology for motor drives, inverter stages optimized for power density, efficiency
• Architect and validate designs to successfully clear stringent DO-160 emissions and susceptibility limits
• Create detailed electrical schematics & develop detailed design description document
• Define test strategies and oversee execution for board bring-up, Design Verification Testing (DVT), and motor dynamometer test-bench validation
• Lead critical design reviews, mentor hardware design engineers, and drive root-cause analysis for complex hardware anomalies
