Security Operations Engineer

About the role

As a Security Operations Engineer at HPE, you will be responsible for Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) administration. You will serve as a technical lead for the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the WAAP platform to protect web applications and APIs from cyber threats while partnering with application, infrastructure, and security teams to enhance the organization's security posture.

What you'll do

• Administering, maintaining, and optimizing the Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) platform, including web application firewall (WAF), API security
• Monitoring and analyzing application traffic to identify, investigate, and mitigate security threats targeting internet-facing applications and APIs
• Configuring, tuning, and maintaining WAF policies, security rules, signatures, and exceptions to maximize protection while minimizing false positives
• Partnering with application development, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to securely onboard and protect new applications and APIs
• Reviewing security events, alerts, and logs to investigate suspicious activity and support incident response efforts
