Senior Software Engineer (Smalltalk)

About the role

This Senior Software Engineer role designs, develops, and maintains high-performance, scalable Java/J2EE applications, incorporating robust backend services and responsive front-end components. Owning full lifecycle development, from requirements analysis through deployment and support, this role collaborates closely with product managers, designers, QA, and fellow engineers in Agile/Scrum environments.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Smalltalk applications using technologies like VAST and Microsoft SQL Server
• Take end-to-end ownership of development tasks: from requirement analysis through implementation, testing, deployment, and support
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate in peer reviews and encourage best practices
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with QA and support teams to ensure timely resolution
• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to improving code quality, performance, and security
