Staff Security Engineer (Data Security Engineering)

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering to lead the design and development of internal platforms, tools, and automation that help protect sensitive data across the organization. This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, working with large-scale data platforms, and partnering with security, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Design and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation
• Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure
• Integrate with large-scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services
• Work closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Partner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored
