About the role
As Forward Deployment Engineer, you will be Origin’s hands-on technical owner at customer construction sites. You will prepare, commission, operate, troubleshoot, and improve autonomous robot deployments while ensuring safe, reliable delivery of customer outcomes. You will connect the field with product and engineering teams, turning every deployment issue and site observation into a faster, more robust robot platform.
What you'll do
- Lead site readiness, mobilisation, commissioning, calibration, acceptance testing, and day-to-day technical operation of deployed robots
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, embedded, networking, perception, and software issues using logs, measurements, controlled tests, and structured escalation
- Perform safe maintenance, component replacement, configuration changes, and recovery procedures in the field
- Train site users, document operating procedures, and maintain clear shift, issue, and maintenance records
- Capture field data, recurring failure modes, workflow constraints, and customer feedback; drive closure with product owners
