About the role
As a Principal Engineer - Mechanical Structures & Dynamics, you will be a technical reference within our structural engineering community, providing deep expertise in structural analysis, dynamics, and mechanical design for wind turbine nacelles. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle, from pre-conceptual design through analysis and validation, covering sheet-metal structures, welded and bolted assemblies, and composite components.
What you'll do
- Lead complex structural analysis and engineering activities, using FEA/ANSYS to assess strength, dynamics, fatigue, and structural integrity
- Develop and improve calculation methodologies and engineering approaches for challenging structural problems
- Provide technical guidance on structural design, challenging assumptions and ensuring robust engineering decisions from concept through validation
- Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge and strengthening technical capability across the team
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, testing, suppliers, and other engineering functions to deliver robust structural solutions
