About the role
You will join the Grid Flow Platform Control Level Software Applications team within Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies business. The team is responsible for developing innovative HVDC Control & Protection solutions that enable secure, efficient, and sustainable transmission of electrical energy across the globe.
What you'll do
- DC Protection System Design & Protection Coordination (40%)
- Analyze and define requirements for DC protection and measurement systems within HVDC projects
- Design, parameterize, and optimize DC protection functions to ensure reliable fault detection and system performance
- Conduct detailed DC Protection Coordination Studies using electromagnetic transient simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC
- Simulate complex fault and network scenarios to evaluate protection system behavior
