Commis (Asian Cuisine)

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Commis to join our culinary team at our Asian cuisine restaurant in Chennai, India. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of senior kitchen staff to prepare ingredients, maintain kitchen standards, and support the smooth operation of our kitchen brigade.

What you'll do

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including woks, steamers, fryers, and other specialized Asian cooking tools
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food storage, temperature control, and sanitation practices
• Follow recipes and cooking instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality of dishes
• Assist senior chefs with food preparation during service, working efficiently to meet timing requirements
• Organize and maintain mise en place (preparation of ingredients and tools) for assigned stations
