Commodity Specialist – Sourced Electrical Equipment (BOP), Power Conversion and Storage - APAC

About the role

The Global Commodity Specialist (GCS) will be responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategy with suppliers of sourced electrical equipment, complementing GE inverters in Solar and Storage Power Conversion Stations (transformers, RMUs, switchgear, substation equipment). GCS will report directly to the Strategic Sourcing Leader and will work closely with the GCLs (Global Commodity Leader) and factory & project fulfillment teams.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute Commodity Strategy based on historical demand, product roadmap, market intelligence, supplier capabilities, and long-term business objectives
• Lead the execution of regional sourcing strategies aligned with the Global Commodity Strategy , driving supplier selection, development, consolidation
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by identifying, qualifying, and onboarding capable suppliers while ensuring readiness for safety, quality, capacity, cost
• Collaborate with global Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning
• Develop supplier capacity planning strategies to meet current and future production requirements, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and continuity of supply
