DC Protection Engineer

About the role

You will join the Grid Flow Platform Control Level Software Applications team within Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies business. The team is responsible for developing innovative HVDC Control & Protection solutions that enable secure, efficient, and sustainable transmission of electrical energy across the globe.

What you'll do

• DC Protection System Design & Protection Coordination (40%)
• Analyze and define requirements for DC protection and measurement systems within HVDC projects
• Design, parameterize, and optimize DC protection functions to ensure reliable fault detection and system performance
• Conduct detailed DC Protection Coordination Studies using electromagnetic transient simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC
• Simulate complex fault and network scenarios to evaluate protection system behavior

What you need
