Design Engineer-Exhaust

About the role

This role focuses on designing and developing exhaust system components and assemblies using advanced CAD tools. The Design Engineer will create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for exhaust systems, ensuring manufacturability, accuracy, and proper integration within automotive packaging and vehicle environments.

What you'll do

• Create and modify 3D CAD models for exhaust system components and assemblies, including exhaust pipes, mufflers and silencers, hangers and brackets, and heat shields
• Develop detailed 2D manufacturing drawings that include GD&T, dimensional tolerances, bills of materials (BOM), and welding specifications
• Ensure that exhaust system designs meet automotive packaging requirements and integrate effectively within the overall vehicle architecture
• Apply sheet metal design principles to develop robust and manufacturable exhaust components such as brackets, shields, and housings
• Use surfacing design techniques to achieve accurate geometries for complex exhaust and heat shield surfaces
