Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer is the statutory head of the Accounts Department and is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring sound financial governance, budgeting, statutory compliance, audit management, financial reporting, and effective financial administration in accordance with UGC Regulations, University Statutes, Government Financial Rules (GFR), PFMS guidelines, and other applicable statutory requirements.

What you'll do

• Prepare the annual budgets, financial estimates and annual statements of accounts
• Manage day-to-day accounting, cash flow, banking, fee collection, payments and vendor settlements
• Present the annual accounts & Financial estimates to finance committee and thereafter to Executive Council for approval
• Ensure timely statutory payments, tax compliance, PF contributions and regulatory filings
• Oversee payroll, employee reimbursements and final settlements
