HVDC/ VSC System Expert- Substation/HVDC

About the role

Provide specialist technical oversight for ±500 kV VSC-HVDC terminal stations, including converter technology, AC/DC system interfaces, converter transformers, valves, reactors, filters, control systems, protection systems, and overall system integration to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

What you'll do

• Review overall HVDC system architecture, design criteria, technical specifications, and interface requirements across the complete VSC-HVDC scheme
• Review OEM design documentation for VSC converters, converter transformers, valves, DC equipment, AC equipment, and associated auxiliary systems
• Assess the design and performance of AC/DC filters, smoothing reactors, harmonic filters, reactive power compensation systems, and associated equipment
• Review station control, HVDC control, valve control, protection systems, monitoring systems, and sequence-of-events functionality
• Evaluate operating philosophies, power control functions, voltage control strategies, reactive power control, black-start capability, and system recovery arrangements

What you need
