Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We're hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to help take Airbound from prototype-scale production to a high-volume facility. This role spans both sides of manufacturing: getting individual parts and processes production-ready, and standing up the equipment and facility that produce them at volume.

What you'll do

• Review mechanical designs for manufacturability and work with the design team to resolve issues before they hit the floor
• Translate requirements from internal teams and external stakeholders into manufacturable, producible designs
• Develop and own manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies — composites layup, injection molding, additive manufacturing, and machining
• Design and prototype mechanical assemblies and process-specific tooling, validating with load calculations, tolerance analysis, basic FEA, and weight budgets
• Design facility layouts and material/process flow, applying industrial engineering fundamentals
