About the role

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. As a Mechanical Engineer III , you will be part of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, drive cost reduction strategies focusing on vibration and structural dynamics, acoustics, and noise control of our scientific instruments.

What you'll do

Design and optimize mechanical systems and assemblies with emphasis on vibration control, structural dynamics
Perform vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses to optimize system performance using FEA tools
Design noise reduction and damping solutions using appropriate materials and engineering techniques
Support system integration and ensure mechanical designs meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and reliability requirements
Vibration/acoustic troubleshooting, including environmental/floor vibration and airborne excitation, experimental characterization
